Willis Newell Floyd is the oldest child of my g-g-g-grandfather, John W Floyd and Oretha Ann Jones. John W, Oretha Ann and family moved from GA to Upshur County, TX in 1857. My g-g-grandfather is one of Willis Newell's younger brothers, Adolphus Dolphin Floyd (b. 6/6/1839 in GA, d. 12/15/1915 in TX). By my records, John W and Oretha Ann had 11 children.
By my records, your g-g-grandmother, Nancy Beatrice Floyd (b. 1859, d. 1931)was the fourth child of Willis Newell Floyd and Sarah Susan Clopton. Beyond that I have nothing.
It appears that your family line and mine converge with John W Floyd and Oretha Ann Jones, our first common ancestor.
There is a Floyd family cemetery near Gilmer, TX. Have you been?
