Jim,
My gggrandmother was Nancy Beatrice Floyd Dean, a daughter of Willis Newell and Sarah Susan Clopton Floyd. Willis was killed in Arkansas in 1862 as CSA soldier. They had moved to Upshur Co., TX from GA about the same time you mention. Do you know these names?
