Bill:

Anything I have to offer on James Floyd is pure supposition so please keep that in mind. I THINK that James' father was Jasper Floyd who married Elizabeth Cupper (Cooper?)Dec. 1723 in Stafford County, VA. Their children could have been Ann, Jasper, James, Richard and Margaret. James may have married Margaret Lee in 1749/50 in Stafford County, VA. Their children may have been William, Elizabeth, Nancy, James, John, Richard, Lee, Garland (Gallant?) and Milly. All of this is little more than a wild guess based on circumstantial evidence. I do not have a Morris anywhere in the mix nor do I have any people from North Carolina although, if any of this is true, they would have passed through North Carolina on their way to SC. I'm afraid I am not much help.

Gene
