I did some research on Nancy in the past but when it became a headache I quit.
This is some of my Mississippi notes (the NC part has a big gap).
I don't think Nancy married Joseph Brock, that was the name of her son.I have Nancy married to John Brock. There was a John Brock in Claiborne in 1816 and also the 1820 census that causes a problem note after the 1820 census the records I have show a better picture.
Nancy's son was Joseph Flowers Brock.source that the F stood for Flowers is from his land patent that had his name as Joseph Flowers Brock of Claiborne ,Mississippi.
This is my time line:
1829 Joseph F Brock married Emily Ann Luckett daughter of James Luckett
1830 census 1 male 20-30 Joseph (head of house) 1 male 50-60 John Brock (father) 1 female 15-20 (wife Emily) 1 fem 50-60 (Nancy)
1830-1831 John Brock dies estate listed on 1831 tax list
I wonder if Nancy died between 1830-1840
This may be Joseph's father (I don't have proof)
1834-1839 Joseph's wife Emily dies living two young children JOhn W and Nancy
1837 James Luckett came to stay with his son inlaw Joseph
Dec 1837 James Luckett dies. When the will was presented for probate it was resisted by J. F. Brock in behalf of his two children, the legal distributees of the estate of Luckett, being his grandchildren on the grounds of the insanity of the testator.
Joseph's uncle Ignatius Flowers gave testimony about James Luckett and Ignatius also stood bond with Joseph and Richard Bland for $100,000 for Amelia Luckett admimistratrix. note: Richard Bland's sister married Ignatius's son Goldsborough.
1840 census Joseph F. Brock 1 male 10-15 1 male 20-30 1 male 30-40 1 female 5-10
1841 Joseph was administor of cousin Goldsborough B Flowers son of Ignatius Flowers
June 10, 1845 Joseph married Margaret Manning
1850 census Claiborne
Joseph F. Brock 44 NC
Margaret 30 Miss
John W. 18 Miss
Nancy 16
1856 son William Brock was born
William maried Olivia Harper Feb 20, 1876 and died of Yellow fever 1878 living two daughters
I think Joseph may have died between 1870 and 1880
note the name of Joseph's plantation was Ivy Hill
