Aug. 1,1811 Uriah Flowers to Goldsborough Flowers $22. for 200 ac on Button Branch adj. AAron Hill and Dunn Swamp wit: Charles Woodell, Ignatius Flowers (son)

May 15, 1812 Joshua Williamson Shff to Goldsborough Flowers 49 ac $2.41 was hightest bidder wit: Luke Yates, John Flowers(son)

1813 was a member of the General Assembly from Columbus County

Usually when a deed is personal there is some kind of connection

March 1813 Know all men by these presents that for and in consideration of $500. to me in hand by Mrs Ann Powell have bargined and sold unto the said Ann Powell and her heirs the following negros to wit a negro girl Peg about eleven years old a negro girl ? Sealhan about nine years old and a negro boy Harry about seven years which said negros above mentioned I warrant unto the said Ann Powell and her heirs ? against me and my heirs, provided that the said Ann Powell do never give or convey the said negroes in such a manner during her life as to prevent her from receiving their support during her natural life, but in all other respect is to be her right and property + to convey the same to whom she may think proper so as that they do not take the said negros in to possesion till after her death I will warrant and forever defend as ___? my hand and seal G Flowers wit: JB White

3 years later brother inlaw John Wingate May 24, 1816
Know all men by these presents that I John Wingate are held and firmly bound unto Mrs Ann Powell in the just + full sum of eight hundred dollars to which payment will and truly to be made to the sd Powell her heirs exectors adminstrtors jointly firmly by these presents sealed with my seal
The condition of the above obligation is this that whereas this day Ann Powell did give a bill of sale unto the said bounden John Wingate for three negros to wit a negro woman about thirteen years old by the name of Peg, a negro girl about ten years old by the name of Selah? and a negro boy about eight years old by the name of Harry to be a full consideration for him to support the sd Ann Powell during her natural life in good comfortable manner, now if the said John Wingate shall will and truly perform and fullfill the condition hereunto annexed then the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force + virture John Wingate Wit; Jacob Guyton, Catherine Young
