Flowers Chronicles
Second Volume
in the Works!
Flowers Chronicles was originally published in 1987, by our dad, P.B. (Bill) Flowers. In 2000, we did a few updates and published a second printing of the original work. It was done because there were so many requests for the book and the original publication had sold out.
In the past few years we've had requests for an updated version of Flowers Chronicles. As those of you who have the original book know, it is nearly 900 pages long. Attempting to add to that book would not be realistic, but more importantly, there are over 1,000 copies in circulation today that would be obsolete if the book were re-written.
So, we've decided to publish a second volume of Flowers Chronicles. Since the original publication date in 1987, 22 years and an entire generation have passed. Many Flowers family members have passed away and many have been born in that time, so we will use Volume 2 to bring the family history up to date. Flowers Chronicles - Volume 2 will pick up where the original left off.
We intend to maintain the style and quality that were so important to Dad in publishing this book, to ensure that Volume 2 will fit perfectly along side of the original and will include updates for the original families.
This is where you all come in. We need information from you about your family members since 1987, so I'm asking everyone to send updates on their family- births, deaths, marriages, burial locations, etc. You are also encouraged to include photos and stories or other documents and information you believe are pertinent.
Part of what makes Flowers Chronicles so fabulous is the photographs, maps and stories. Names, dates and locations are important, but the inspiring and memorable part is the stories. So please include those! If you would like help writing the stories, we can do that.
You can send your info, stories and photos via email, or if you prefer US Mail, you'll find the address below. If you plan to send anything that you need copied and returned to you, please note that and we will get your originals back to you.
We also need your help in locating family members. Dad kept good records of everyone who purchased books or showed an interest, but a lot of time has passed and we're not sure of the validity of the email and postal addresses we have. There are over 500 names for whom I don't have email addresses, since email wasn't in use when most of those folks ordered books.
If you could pass this email on to other family members, and/or send their addresses to us, it would be greatly appreciated.
Even if you can't send your family updates right away, please send us an email to let us know you've received this and are interested in updating your family history for Volume 2.
