Brandon:
First, I can assure you that C.D. was NOT a daughter of Robert and Ida (Graves) Flowers, for they were my great grandparents, and I remember them both, although I was only 3 years old when Ida died in 1948.My grandmother was their oldest child (born 1892), and I knew all of her brothers and sisters.
I remember well an old gentleman named Mr. Ace Eddins, whose mother was a daughter of G. B. Flowers.I interviewed Mr. Eddins on two occasions, and he pronounced C. D.'s name as if it were one word, "Seady".Mr. Eddins, now deceased, was about 85 at the time I visited with him.Mr. Ace lived in the Zion Chapel community, only a short distance from where G. B. Flowers is buried.
I live only about 15-20 miles from where G. B. Flowers is buried and have seen his grave many times, as well as the grave of his son, Richard Oliver Flowers.Sometimes when I'm back down there and have my camera with me, I'll see if I can make a picture of the headstones for you.I did make a picture of G. B.'s tombstone some 30-35 years ago, and if I can find it, I'll be glad to give that one to you.
