Mary Elizabeth Williams is identified as the widow of Orlando Jones on a marble tablet inside Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg VA. She is also identified as Orlando Jones' widow in his will and in documents pertinent to the sale of his house to Jean-Jacques Flournoy (the history of the house was thoroughly researched by The Williamsburg Foundation). At Jones' death she became guardian of his children. A year after his death she married Jean-Jacques Flournoy and soon thereafter guardianship of Frances and Lane Jones (Orlando's children) passed (in court) to Flournoy, whose guardianship was later successfully challenged in court by relations of Orlando Jones. All of this is supported by documentation. I would be interested to know the source of your information that Mary Elizabeth was not married to Orlando Jones! <firstname.lastname@example.org>
