Hi Fay, I wrote a book many years ago on the Flournoy Family. Parke Poindexter Flournoy was never a DR. He died 29 November 1857 so it can't be his picture. But Dr. Peter Creed Flournoy born 15 September 1828 was a half brother to our George Henry Flournoy that my family connect to. The family Bible of Daniel Flournoy (their father)is out here in CA. It lists all three marriages of Daniel and all his children. Daniel came to CA along with many of his children after the Civil War. He died July 20-28 1881 in Tehama CO., CA and is buried in the Flournoy Family Cemetery.
Dr. Peter C. Flournoy did go to Linn CO.,MO but may have went back home to visit his father at the time the photo was taken. George H. Flournoy was also studying to become a DR when the war started. I think he was studying medicine in Surry CO with Dr. Edward Cox Smith, his step brother as preceptor.
