There was a Flothmann/Floethmann/Flottmann family originating from kastellaun Germany in ca.1500. The family never grew very large, therefore not too difficult to trace. Even today we are just a handful of Flothmann families. Flothmanns mostly migtated to the E-of Germany, with one particular branch going to Russia at the invitation of Katherine the Great and settled on the banks of the Volga river. This branch did drop the "mann" of the end of their names and became Flot/Floth/and Flott. Some of these families later emigrated to the US. and you will find several families of them in the NW US. One of these is Roger Floth 34 Rachel ST. Waterloo Iowa 50701. Check US Phone directory for Flot Flott, Floth.
