Hi, Philip! Cannot connect with your MO Florys at this time, but would like to give some tips: 1. Carroll County, IN has many Floras and Florys. The Floras in Flora, IN descend from Jacob Flora, immigrant son of Joseph Fleury, so it's all in the family. 2. The Carroll County Courthouse in Delphi, IN has a historical museum in the basement with a strong emphasis on local genealogies, and there is even a Conestoga Wagon. 3. Logansport is my hometown and I remember Bill Cuppy playing basketball for the high school. It was a "railroad town" for the Pennsylvania Railroad, with Vandalia just down the tracks. Logan is home to the Iron Horse Festival/Museum and there might be some information for you regarding the train accident. 4. Neff and Naff are interchangeable spellings for folks in Franklin County, VA and have connection (through marriage) with the Florys in various places, especially Douglas County, KS..Barnhart and Jamison are also strong names in the VA area around Roanoke. 5. Circa 1950 there were books published on Flora, Flory, and Peter Ikenberg (Eikenberry) descendents. I have a copy of all three. 6. East of Logansport on R.R. 5 was the Flory orchards. I don't know if it still exists. 7. France Park west of Logansport has dedicated an area to Wilmer Flory...Wilmer planted flowers all over town and had many hybrid experiments going on in his backyard.. 8. In Carroll County, IN and Douglas County, KS (Baldwin, Pleasant Grove, Ottowa, Olathe and Lawrence, Willow Springs) the Floras and Florys are connected with the German Baptist Church. If you get to Logansport, you will want to go to Riverside Park (15th and High Sts.along the river) and take a ride on the restored 1885 Denzel Carousel. Let me know if I can help you in my area.
