I am seeking information about my g-g-g-grandfather, Elias Florida. I only know that he was born in New York about 1824. He married Jenny Lynch, who was born in New York about 1837. They are listed on the 1880 census for Harrisburgh, Lewis County, New York. Elias is listed as Eliazer and Jenny is listed as Jane. Elias's parents were both born in the US, and Jenny's father was born in Ireland, while her mother was born in New York. Elias and Jenny had 3 children. There were 2 daughters, Nettie (b. about 1866 and married a Lyng) and Mae (b. about 1871 and married William Kehoe). The oldest, Charles E., my g-g-grandfather, was born August 25, 1863 at Carthage, New York and died August 27, 1942 in Comstock, Nebraska. Charles married Eva Maude Brass (b. June 14, 1873 at Woodstock, Illinois and d. June 24, 1953 in Grand Island, Nebraska) on June 14, 1893 in Elgin, Illinois. Charles and Eva adopted one son, my great-grandfather, Harold Vern Florida. I have almost no information on Elias and Jenny. My g-g-grandfather, Charles, always said that his mother (Jenny) was Irish. He apparently had a falling out with his father, because he apparently never spoke of him and refused to do so. He did have contact with his sisters. I have a picture of Nettie, and Mae's children and grandchildren used to keep in contact with my great-grandmother when she was alive. They even visited a few times. Any information on Elias and Jenny (Lynch) Florida would be greatly appreciated!
