George Florian, New York

I need help finding out about my great grandmothers real parents. Their names were George Florian and Gertrude Griechow(?) Florian. They lived in Western New York and had five children: Sylvia, Edward, Geoge, Edith and Stella. Their father George gave them up for adoption after their mother died in childbirth. The children (except for Sylvia who was too old) all went to different homes around the area but did know each other. My great aunt has told me that George was German and went back to Germany after his wife died but I don't know for sure if this is true. This would have been in the early 1900's. Please write if you have any information.
Thanks.
