Hi Margie,
I'm sure that this is our Ellen Florence married to John. They arrived in mason City in 1856, and were the only Florence family in town. Since Ellen couldn't read or write, shen wouldn't have known what name was included on the membership list. I assume that the church thaought that Ellen was a nickname for Elenore.
