Hi Barb, Okay, I have found out some new information about my FLOODY line. The Charles A. FLOODY that I have in my line was born February 4, 1878 in Kingston, ON, married Helen "Ellen" POWERS, born December 13, 1879 in Kingston, ON; married January 19, 1898 in Kingston, ON. Now I have found out that Charles was the son of Alexander and Maria (SPENCER) FLOODY of Kingston. Alexander FLOODY was born in 1851, Port Hope, ON, died 1910 New Jersey and is buried at Cataraqui Cemetery in Kingston along with his wife, Maria Spencer. Alexander and Maria were married on November 20, 1871 in Kingston, Ontario. Alexander's parents were Charles and Margaret (no maiden name) FLOODY. I have not located this Alexander in Port Hope as of yet, but I found this most interesting as you said that your Charles may have also been born in Port Hope, ON. Now, I am almost certain that this is the same family, but I would need to dig further in order to find the proof here. It is also believed that this family originally came from Ireland, I have no proof of this as of yet either. From the marriage registration for Alex and Maria, they were both Methodist, he was a mechanic and he was 20 when he married Maria. Now the question is how does your Charles connect into this family? It is quite possible that they might be cousins or even a nephew and uncle. I look forward to hearing if you have found out anything new on your end. Many regards, Lisa
