One of the very few known male descendants of WILLIAM FLOOD (ca. 1775-ca. 1848) who carries on the FLOOD surname submitted a sample of his DNA to be analyzed by the Sorensen Molecular Genealogy Foundation, Salt Lake City, Utah. The report of his DNA-analysis predicts his Y-DNA Haplogroup is: R-M207 Supbgroup: R1b1b2*-M269. This prediction places the origin of his FLOOD ancestor in Northwest Ireland, possibly in County Cavan, or a neighboring county.
