Walter Flood Surry Co., VA 1715 deed Identification/Explanation
Posted by: arlina (ID *****1789) Date: July 30, 2009 at 18:19:39
  of 1327

The following deed appeared with Surry County, VA Deed Book #4, 1741-1746 ( abstract ):

P.7, 15 Jun. 1715....WALTER FLOOD of Southwarke Parish to WILLIAM KNOTT and wife MARY KNOTT...a parcel of negroes who were willed to Walter Flood by his son, JOHN FLOOD, DECD., on 26 Mar, 1709. The Knotts in turn make over the increase of a slave named Mary to JANE FLOOD, grandchild of the said Walter Flood.
Wit: Nathaniel Harrison, E. Goodrich and Robert Rogers.Signed Walter Flood. REC: 17 Feb. 1741

I would like a reason for this deed with such date differences. Does it indicate any kinship with the Knott family? Any help will be appreciated. Arlina
