Johannes Martinus Flood was born 26/5 1839 in Stadsbygd, near Trondheim in Norway. He studied medicine and volunteered in the danish navy in the second Schleswig war 1864. After this, he worked at a pharmacy in London before he went to Alexandria Egypt to work as a private doctor. He advanced and became director of the central hospital of the suez canal. After a time of disease, he went to Switzerland 1905 and died the same year in Lausanne.
