Martin Flood -- 1870 -- Northern Ireland

Greetings!

I'm looking for information on a relative by the name of Martin Flood. I know from Census that he was born about 1870 in Northern Ireland and ultimately settled in Philadelphia with his wife Ellen and his son Michael (or Michel). I'm told that he needed to be "smuggled" out of Ireland. Any help would be appreciated.
