THOMAS FLOOD (1760-1811) VA > TN

THOMAS FLOOD, generally believed to have been a son of JOHN FLOOD, is believed to have been born about 1760 in Buckingham Co., VA, and moved to Wilson Co., TN about 1800 where he died in 1811. There is an interesting letter in the Tennessee State Library & Archives, Archives & Manuscripts Section, 403 - 7th Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37219 under the call number MS. Div. Ac. No. 1051 which was written to NANCY STROTHER FLOOD [daughter of THOMAS FLOOD and his second wife, JUDITH STROTHER] by her cousin MOLLIE PEARCE, daughter of LUCY FLOOD PEARCE, wife of Joseph Pearce, who settled in Ripley, Tippah Co., Mississippi. There are many tidbits in the letter which should interest the researcher and provide clues to other localities in which to continue the research on descendants.
