I was told all of my life that we were related to Dragging Canoe, his dad Attakullakkulla and in some way to Sequoyah and Nancy Ward. This came down from the Flippos and Brays. My granpa was John Henry Flippo and my grandma was Laura Bray his second wife. I am still looking after 40 years and since the internet, it is getting closer. Also look up under Catawba, Chickamauga Cherokee and old Settler Cherokees and High Mountain Chocotaws. These people had light hair and eyes JH's were grass green and he had blond hair that silvered early. Some had black hair but their complexion is described as ruddy, or reddish. Freckles and skin cancer (JH died of skin cancer). I keep looking for the connection. Email me if you want at God's Love Cousins
