Complete obit. No photo with obit.

Bertha Lena FLINT. Born BARTALINA CORTESE on August 24, 1912 in Oswego, NY; died February 18, 2007 at her home in Seattle WA. Loving mother of FRANCES HILL (GARY) and PHYLLIS FINLEY (MICHAEL); grandmother of EMILY KANE (MATT), JOHN, THERESA, and MATTHEW HILL; great-grandmother of ISABEL BARTALINA KANE. Also survived by her brother, DR. PHILIP CORTESE (MARGARET) of Amsterdam, New York and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by GLENN LEWIS FLINT, her husband of 45 years.
Lina graduated from Oswego State College in 1933. Her teaching career included a two room school house in Mallory, NY then Lexington School for the Deaf in Manhattan. While in Manhattan, the "man with the blue eyes" swept her off her feet and she landed in Seattle. She finished her teaching career at John B. Allen Elementary in Seattle, WA.
She lived life with gust and a positive outlook. She relished her family, her many activities and her service to others. You may have met her power walking in Greenwood (Seattle), bicycling around Green Lake or on the bus to go swimming at the WAC until well into her 80s. A long time parishioner and choir member of St. John Church, she was also a member of the Golden View Garden Club, the Seattle Retired Teachers Association and Greenwood Senior Center. Vigil Service will be held Sunday, February 25th, at 5 p.m. at Hoffner Fisher & Harvey Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, February 26th, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 121 N. 80th St., Seattle WA.
Remembrances may be made to your favorite charity.

I am not related to this family. I am a Seattle WA resident. Was this helpful? Please let me know. And, pass the favor along, take a few minutes to post an obit, or share some family info. Thanks!
