Hi William.
Thank you for responding to my questions concerning Mariah. My Great Great Grand Father "J. A. Dees" married "Sally Dunn" somewhere between 1863 and 1865. J. A.(Jesse Andrew) Dees joined the Confederat Army. Sally apparently Followed him to somewhere in Kentuky where he was taken prisoner by the Union Army and shipped to Elmira, New York where he died on Feb. 27th, 1865. Sally had become pregnant with my Great Grand Father. She then carried the baby on horse back home to Texas. She returned to a small town about nine miles East of Gordonville called Red Branch, Texas. The name "Gordon Dees" had been issued a Land Grant in 1838. I was hopeing the GORDON in GORDONville might be part of the Dees clan.
