DROWNED -- SAD AFFAIR -- Calaveras 'Chronicle' --
Michael FLINN, an old resident of Mokelumne Hill, was
drowned in a spring on his place on Tuesday evening
last. How the accident happened will never be known,
but it is supposed that he was endeavoring to place
some boards over the barrel, which encloses the water,
when he lost his balance and was precipitated, head
downwards, into the spring. When found life had been
extinct several hours. The death of Mr. FLINN is
deeply mourned by a large circle of relatives and
acquaintances.
