Lewelling King lived in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, 1787-1800. In his household was Randolph White, orphaned son of Stephen White, and Randolph White apparently owned the land of Lewelling King after 1800. Randolph White was also an heir of Benjamin King who died in Petersburg, Dinwiddie Co, 1815-1816. Julian King who died in Nash County, North Carolina in 1812 was the uncle of Benjamin King. It is possible Lewelling King was the father of Benjamin King and brother of Julian King. Julian King was in Nash County as early as 1788 and probably was the Julian King enumerated/taxed in Bute County (later Warren and Franklin Counties) North Carolina in the 1770’s. There was a close relationship between Julian King and Loderick F. Ellen, whose family was the Flewellen family of Prince George County, Virginia next to Dinwiddie County. Lewelling King was taxed in Prince George County in 1800 and probably lived close to the border; his name Lewelling was possibly a variation of Flewellen.
