Thanks, Chip. That does clarify several elements; and I agree that the 'Elizabeth' was probably a census error. I have seen that happen before.
As to your search for the origin of Eisenhart/Eisenhardt, etc.; I did find the following which suggests the name was transmitted through the Purdy's. The following notes might be of interest.
Thomas
In 1755 a census of slaves in Westchester Co. was taken by the captains of the militia in the county. In Capt. Joseph Horton’s list was a ‘Crestepher Eisenhart’ with 2 male slaves and 1 female slave. Joseph did not indicate the area of concern, but from the surnames (including Purdy‘s), I would suspect near North Castle (possibly towards Rye; White Plains?), but not Rye or North Castle. Both were done separately, and North Castle was covered by Aaron Forman for ‘Captine Dusenber’. This list is found at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~nywestch/census/slaves_1755.htmhttp://www.rootsweb.com/~nywestch/census/slaves_1755.htm
Christopher also appears in the 1790 census at:
http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ny/westchester/census/west1790.txthttp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ny/westchester/census/west1790.txt
this time, in Rye as:
Eisenhart, Christopher, 3.0.1.2.0
According to the IGI, a Christopher ‘Isonhart’ was b. Flushing, Queens Co., Long Island, NY ca. 1705 and m. 20DEC1729 Sarah Stringham (parentage a matter of question), apparently not the same Christopher as Sarah m. 2nd 11DEC1746 Daniel Bowne. There is, however, some indication that this Christopher (‘Isinghartt’) did go to Westchester Co.
Ca. 1750, a Christopher Eisenhart is said to have m. Rye, Westchester Co., NY Sarah Hart (b. ca. 1731), d/o Monmouth and Sarah (Ogden) Hart.

a web site on the Purdy family, are references to the deaths:
Purdy, Eisenhart, son of Eisenhart and Levinia, d. 4 Mar. 1801 8 yrs. 7 mos.
Purdy, Eisenhart, d. 6 Dec. 1793 31 yrs. 28 days
Levinia Hatfield, widow of Eisenhart Purdy and wife of Gilbert Hatfield, d. 3 Sept. 1848 82-8-8
These apparently at a cemetery at, Thebard Place, 1/8 mile North of Rosedale Ave., White Plains, NY.
At a defunct site of Amazon dot com are references to the following works:
Henry Eisenhart - Ancestry of the John Franklin Eisenhart Family, with Supplement Higginson Books
Eisenhart, W. W. Eisenhart - Ancestry of the John Franklin Eisenhart Family, with Supplement Higginson Books
The name appears twice amongst Flewwellin’s, especially the Yorktown, Westchester Co., NY family. One is:
R43223. EISENHART FLEWWELLIN b. 8APR1864, d. 26MAR1926, m. 13NOV1886 MAME FRASIER (b. 11MAR1865), d/o Edwin I. and Mary (Guth) Frasier
Eisenhart was the s/o Edwin L. and Jane (Criswell) Flewwellin; Edwin s/o Robert Washburn Flewwellin and Hester Purdy. Hester was a d/o Micah and Hester (Bailey) Purdy of Somers, Westchester Co., NY. Robert Washburn Flewwellin was the s/o Ezekiel and Tamar (Washburn) Flewwellin; with Ezekiel the s/o Robert and Mary D. (Searles) Flewwellin of Yorktown; Robert being the s/o Robert and Maplet Flewelling of North Castle.
The other appearance was:
R4324. EIZENHARDT EZEKIEL PURDY FLEWWELLIN b. 24APR1840, d. 21MAY1919, m. 22MAR1866 OCIE MORTON (or HORTON) (b. 24JUL1841, d. 20JAN1921), daughter of William and Eliza Jane (Sherwood) Morton
who was Eisenhart’s uncle. The name, then, appears to derive from the Purdy family, specifically that of Hester Purdy.
I find it of some interest that the IGI gives a Micah Purdy b. Ledyard, Cayuga Co., NY 24FEB1773, d. 1859, s/o Joseph and Charity (Eisenhart) Purdy. Ledyard was once part of Scipio, from whence came Benjamin W. Fluelling. Benjamin, I believe, was the s/o Ezekiel Flewelling, brother of Robert Flewwellin of Yorktown. This also indicates that Joseph and Charity were Friends. Charity Eisenhart is given as b. ca. 1729, d. 24DEC1796. Charity’s parents are not given, but a list of her children indicates that they came from White Plains, Westchester Co., NY includes (amongst others): Christopher Purdy, Monmouth Purdy (apparently a reference to Monmouth Hart) and Eisenhart Purdy.
Another Micah Purdy was b. White Plains, Westchester Co., NY 25APR1792, s/o Eisenhart and ‘Levina’ (Purdy) Purdy. (Eisenhart Purdy, s/o White Plains, Westchester Co., NY. Also, see reference to cemetery above.)
Micah Purdy m. Yorktown Heights, Westchester Co., NY 17DEC1796 Hester Bailey. This would make him unlikely to have been the s/o Eisenhart Purdy.
Micah Purdy, s/o Amos and Amy (Fuller) Purdy is said to have been b. ca. 1797.
