Hi Darrell.Sorry I have not gotten back with you.But after sorting through all my information and trying to organize it, I just descided to start putting it on line. I hope you are following me. But anyway I found this among my many things.I was in Charleston SC. trying to find William Fletcher and this Elizabeth who has been very allusive.I am not sure if anyone has this but here is what I found on George Fletcher.
"The Register Book For The"
St. Philips Episopal Church, Charleston SC.
Fletcher George Son of William Fletcher and Elizabeth his wife Born December 28th. 1752 Baptized June ye 2nd. 1753
I spoke to an Historian from the Church, and she told me that the St. Philip Episopal Church use to be St. Michaels. She said that they have the records from St. Michaels?? (Not sure if I am spelling Michaels right) But at that time the church was under Restoration. She gave me her number and told me if I would call back much later she would try to go through those records to see if she could find William Fletcher, and wives.I was doing my research at the Historical Center there on Meeting Street,Charleston SC., and I had just a day of researching.I did find William Fletchers Rev. record. I found a lot of Books about this Thomas Fletchall,( I also believe he was born in Maryland) He was a Tory. The number of the Historical Center is 843-723-3225and I have another number here that I believe?? is the St. Philips Episopal Church:803-722-7734
This was my last place of researching, right before I had my stroke.I have not called her back, and they should be through with their restoration. She was very knowlageable about the history of SC, and the early history of the Parishes and churches, so it may help someone to contact Charleston Historical Society, and ask them for the number of St. Philips Episopal Church, just to clarify this number.
