Denise, you have been busy tonight and hopefully we will all get this sorted out. I descend from Johannes Flender (Flenner), Rudolph, George, John, William Franklin Pierce, Clayley, and William. Like you I have seen the tombstones of most. I can't say I've seen Rudolph's because of the weeds and Mr. Rupp said I couldn't read anything on the stone anyway. I have not seen John Srs. stone in Washington county either, but you and I both know he's buried there.

You see we know almost nothing about John Jr. or what happened of his family. As you know he received almost nothing in his father's will, with all the land and money going to Rudolph and his sister Mary. Dr. Nay felt that he may have already received his inheritance and that his family may have moved to PA or WV. I found records of some Flenner children in a PA war orphanage once but their father was not named. I have always wondered whether some of these other Flenners, Fleners, Fliners, etc. descend from him.
