I've been doing a little bit of family research on my branch of the Fleming/Flemmings. I have been able to go back to my great, great, great, grandfather, James, who was married to Barbara Melman on March 22, 1832 in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada. I also know from tomstone records that he died August 25, 1882, age 85 yrs. and still in Nova Scotia. James had 9 children, my great, great, grand father(John, b.1841) had 15~17 children, my great grandfather(Aseph, b. 1883) had 2 and my grandfather(Ivan, b. 1920) had 3. Its a good sized family but it would seem the majority of the males had all moved on. Possibly back to the states?

I have also found another Fleming line in Nova Scotia from about the same time, but I have yet to be able to tie them together to mine....John and Jasamine, married April 23, 1835 ketch Harbour, Nova Scotia.

Please drop me a line if these names, dates or places mean anything to you and your research.
