Hello John, Thanks for the reply. What does your C. stand for? My father was a James Clyde Fleming. My records are confusing, John H. was my great grandfather, on tombstone in Lamar Co., he is listed as H.H. Fleming.I have that he was in Co. K, 26th Ala Regiment in Civil War, he was wounded in Chancellorsville. Sometimes his records appear as John Henry C., John H., J.H.C., Hiram also shows up. In getting military records, I also received records for John Fleming b. June 29, 1828 in Newton Co. Georgia, in Co. I or K, 24th Ala Infantry. My John was married to Mahaley Jackson, had a brother named Bob who was killed in the Civil War. I have a roster for his company which lists J.H. Fleming, Alx. Fleming, R.N. Fleming, and Bob Fleming. John H. is listed in the 1900 Lamar Co. Alabama census with a birth date of Oct. 1842. Just came across some info I had missed before. John H. had 5 children, one a son b. Sept 2, 1872 named Hiram H. Seems this family followed a tradition of naming with double letters...I have a Charley C., Walter Winfred, Hiram H., Donigan D. Have you seen this in your records? Thanks again and look forward to hearing from you. Rhonda Fleming Roebuck Notify Administrator about this message?
