If you send me your e-mail address I will send you what I have on the Mallory Family. My first source was from Professor Bascom Hayes who was a History Professor at Sam Houston State University. His mother wrote a book on the Greenwood?Loyless families and related names. I have also seen the information on the Mallory in several books. I will have to check my notes which go back to before I had a computer. My Aunt worked on my mother's family tree for many years. I started helping her with unsolved family puzzles about 12 years ago. I have been smitten with genealogy ever since. I have seen spellings of the same family as Bate, Batte, and Bates. I had started researching the Bates family even before I knew of my conncection with this family. I was researching the family of Col. John Banister,of Virginia, his grandfather; the Botanist, married Martha Batte, the daughter of Henry Batte. I will be glad to send you what I have on the Mallory line. I got this information from a book I found at Clayton. It traces to Henry Batte above. Who was either a brother are cousin of John Batte, at the least a close relation.
