William Fleet 40th regiment 1772?-1783

I hired an archival expert through ancestry.com who has come up with the theory that William Fleet who received a land grant in Clements Nova Scotia in 1786 was actually William Flett born in Broadhyth of Findochty. I believe that this theory is most likely correct and hope that some day the evidence will be found to firmly suport it.
