Hi,
I am searching for information about Dabney Harris who was known to be living in Wilkes and Surry Co, NC about 1780 to 1797. Dabney Harris moved to Washington Co, VA in 1797, then in 1800 moved back to Surry Co, NC and is on the 1800 Surry Co, NC census there.
Dabney Harris and his family moved back to Washington Co, VA, about 1808 and lived with his son, Christopher Harris and died in Washington Co, VA in 1810.
Dabney Harris had a large family of children, thought to have been named Benjamin, Sarah, Christopher, Mary Polly, Solomon, Silas, Isabelle, and Dabney Jr,, and others who may have married into the MUSICK, ROY, BLACKWELL, FRANKLIN, PERSONETT, HARRIS, and AUSTIN families in Surry CO, NC. These names may be listed on marriage records or in wills in the Surry Co,NC or Wash Co, VA records.
Dabney Harris and his wife Mary were living with Dabney's son, Christopher Harris and wife Mary Polly, at the time of his death in 1810 in the Poor Valley/North Fork Holston River area in Washington Co, VA.
Dabney Harris' neighbors and associates in Washington Co, VA were, Gillenwaters, Fleenor, Newhouse, Wallis/Wallace,Sargent and Gobble.
If you have any information on the Dabney Harris family or know of any connections please contact me. Thank you, Lillian
