Need some help or suggestions

I've been trying for years to tie my gggrandfather Calvin Fleeman to his father and mother. He appears first in the 1850 Greenfield Township, Poinsett County, AR census living with the Albert Pierce/Pearce family at age 21 born in TN and shows father and mother both born in TN. If you go back to the 1830 and 1840 Giles County and Smith County TN census you find some possibilities with John Fleeman, William Fleeman, and Washington Fleeman but with all the childrens names that you eventually find for those it doesn't leave a spot for Calvin. I really feel like he is connected to the Giles County, TN Fleemans as the Pearce's, Simmons, and Howells, whom he lived with in AR and eventually married all miagrated from Giles County TN to AR but I just can't pin his birth family down. Any suggestions?
