First of all I want to clear up a couple of real important things and that is Thomas Fleeman was born in NC and not in Ga. Also his father was NOT John FLEMAN from SC. I get real upset when people attach someone when they have no proof and even more upset when it is wrong. I would like to add to all the family tree searchers out there if you can't prove it and don't have sound proof then don't add it to your information. I do have proof as to who Thomas Fleeman's father is and his father was a FLEEMAN and not the noted John FLEMAN that a few have assumed to be his father. His father is from VA and was not the one who came over on the ship called the Brigatine Freemason. He did not come over on a ship period. The Fleman with 1 e is a whole different surname of people. Our Fleeman's have 2 e's all the way back as far as I have found in the 1500's. Please make note of it and detach the John Fleman from Thomas Fleeman b. 1775 in NC, married to Elizabeth Johnson in Oglethorpe Co., Ga. Be careful as to what you add to your files. Just because someone has it on their website does not make it true and correct!! Those out there that are misleading others with their false information need to make corrections or give up the genealogy as a hobby. I am sorry if I sound harsh but I have already asked a particular person to correct their wrong information on their website but has yet to do it after 2 years. All this time there are people going to that site and getting the wrong information that someone knows is not correct and does not care that they are giving people false facts. I have worked on this family for 10 years now and I have only what I can prove if I can't prove it or did not see if for myself in documents then I don't add it. Any questions feel free to e-mail me.
