The surname of FLAX is not one in which I'm researching, however, the surname of LAX belonged to my great-grandmother Rebecca LAX and thus the reason for my interest.
As I was reading the 1880, Lincoln County, Tennessee census I crossed the information below. At first, thought possibly my relatives... still could have been an enumerators mistake... but I don't want to waste my efforts of copying, especially if someone else may be looking for these two ladies.
SUSAN A. FLAX, white, female, age 57 or 51, sister-in-law, born in Tennessee, father in South Carolina and mother in Pennsylvania. Living with:
JAMES G. HARRISON, white, male, age 63, farmer, born in Tennessee, father in Virginia and same for his mother. His spouse listed only with initials: J. N. K., age 63, with birth places same as her sister above.
