Hi there
The Robert Flatt married to Mary Baker was my Grandmother Mary Flatt Rempel's G-Grandfather and she has recorded that he was born November 19, 1799, in Kirkwall, Orkney Isles, Scotland. He was the son of John Flatt and Margaret Shearer. He came to work for the Hudson Bay Company and married Mary Baker (b.1800) in County of Wentworth, Province of Canada on October 16, 1819. He died there in 1848. His son, Samuel (1840-1912)was their youngest child and farmed the land deeded to him by his grandfather, Abraham Baker. He married Lavina Bradt (1839-1930). Their church and trading center was Millgrove, Ontario (near Hamilton). They had five children. Their second son, Charles Edmond, was my Grandmother's father (my Great-Grandfather Flatt). Cheers!
