My understanding from Travis was, that the Flatts moved into Tn. and Mo. from Kentucky in the early 1800's. Was it a coincidence that so many Flatts had the name George going back several generations? I just don't know. My G grandfather was born in Gasconade Mo. and my Grandfather was born in Canton Tx. If you check the Civil war records there were several Geo. Flatts in the Confederate Army including my G grandfather who came to Texas after the war.
