Hello. I can't help you with Jacob, but my great grandfather was from Wurttumburg...sailed to Philadelphia...where many Germans landed, I am to believe, from research. how Bernhard got from Phi. to Ohio is unknown to me. his son, my grandfather, took he train from Ohio to Los Angeles in 1888, when the fare was $1. He started a meat packing and processing plant, Flammer Brothers' Meat Market (he and bro. Bernhard), then became the city meat inspector. Unfortunately, he died before I knew him.
