I have Flahive relatives from Kerry. They are from a town called Ballyheigue. And there are still Flahives in that area. Try posting to the Country Kerry forum and see what you get.
Martin Flahive (born Nov. 1842), son of Michael Flahive and Mary Sweeney, came to U.S. in 1861 and raised his family in Sacramento, CA. May have lived for a while in Louisville, KY. If you want, I can email you a GEDCOM file of his family, but it will contain info only on the U.S. family.
