Let me do some more digging. My Jacob Claudius Flagg lived in Foreston, Clarendon County SC when he applied for his Civil War Pension in 1919. I have also ordered his death certificate but have not yet received it. When I get that, I'll order the interment list to see who else is in his grave. Today I am heading to the library to do some census and marriage record research to see if that can shed some light on the second marriage (which makes sense since he live to be 94!) and any children from the second marriage. Do you have the name of the church or parish for Miriam Estelle? We could use it to try to get the marriage record. Ditto on her son's marriage to Julia Flagg? Were they Episcopalian? I am looking forward to keeping in touch as we unravel this!
