I am searching for information on my great grandmother, Lena Carlisle.
Oral lore says she was born out of wedlock to Priscilla Carlisle on 18 September 1880 in Chipley, Washington County, FL.
Raised by the Gilberts, in Vernon, FL, but probably not adopted. Left home when she was 18 with a river boat captain (Captain Golias?) to go to Pensacola. 10 years lost after she left home before she married Willie B. May.
