Thank you for such a quick response. We have hurricane Ivan headed our way and this way I can enter the data and save to disk and run for the hills! I appreciate your census data. I tried everything I could think of to find census data but several on ancestry.com didn't have an image and I didn't think of using the nickname of Chas. or Charlie. I am going to have to learn how to search better. The local university is offering a class.
I am very happy to see Frances on there. That is the particular child I am searching for. Frances Ellafare McLellan married Burton Simon Rogers. She is the grandmother of my friend. I found from the Crowder Cemetery listing that Charles had a brother named James T. and I found an older man named Daniel K. Tyler McClellan (spelling varies) and wife Sarah C. Taylor close by and buried near them. I am trying to find out if he is the father to Charles and James. The land grants show both Daniel and Charles receiving grants in the same general area up near Mossy Head. Daniel at 21W 3N 20 for Charles and 21W 3N 8 for Daniel. Thanks for your help. Pam
