They are in the following census':
1920 Census Okeelanta, Palm Beach County, Florida
1930 Census Eldon, Miller County, Missouri

Evidently, they were in some kind of a mobile construction outfit and moved quite a bit throughout the US. However, they seemed to have a kind of permanent home in Broward Co. FL.

The URL you gave in your posting is correct. Linda Bates Carlisle who married Benjamin Frances Gaines about 1902 is the same Linda Carlisle Gaines you found in the 1955 Florida Death Index. However, the two Benjamin Gaines you found does not look like the husband of Linda.
