Hello Lucas,
Just got around to seeing your query. I hope this may be of help:
The 1900 census for Lafayette County, Florida shows a John Sapp 60 born Florida, wife Elizabeth L, 55 (March 1869?), Rosa I. 25, James H. 23, John 14, Susan 11. (page 211).
The 1880 census for Lafayette County shows a John Sapp 40, E.L. 35, B.W. 8, Calvin 8, Rosaline 6, James H. 3, Eldenma 8/12. This appears to be the same family with minor differences.
I have another page of marriages which lists one J.H. who married Annie L. Hurst on 29 May 1901 in Lafayette County, Florida.
If this information fits with yours, then we are probably working on the same line as the father of the above John (my line) is quite likely to be John Sapp, born 1801 according to the Madison County census for 1850, at which time his family consisted of: wife Hannah 36 (both born in Georgia), Benjamin 12, Rebecca 10, John 9, Newton 7, Jasper 5, Elizabeth 3, Mary 1 and two who may have been lodgers of workers: William Gillett 28 born Ga. and Queen Esther 12 born Florida.
I hope this may have been some help.
