Dear Sandy,
I've been working with my Cousin, Scott Peeler, on the Willis line. He sent me some information, that, you had on
Joseph Willis b. 1759 m. Prudence Dykes. You list 2 sons Robert b. Jan. 4, 1781 and Gideon b. Dec. 29, 1789.

I have been checking the Census Records.

1820 Effingham Co., Ga. Census:
Henry Willis and Gideon Willis. ( These were difficult to see)

1830 Effingham Co., Ga. Census:

Gideon Willis age 40-50, b. 1780-1790 fits with your date of 1789. There are two males under 15.

Robert Willis age 40-50, b. 1780-1790 fits with your date of 1781, no sons.

Turney(Turner?)(Furney)Willis age 30-40 b. 1790-1800, 5 sons, and also a male 70-80 b. 1750-1760, fits with dates for Joseph Willis b. 1759. It could also be his Wife, Pansey Dykes's Father Jesse who died in Effingham Co., Ga. in 1830.

John Willis age 40-50.b. 1780-1790, 1 son.

Thanks for anything else you may be able to add.
