Frank,
Many thanks for your response. The fact of the matter is that I have virtually no information save what is on my wife's birth certificate. I have searched every avenue possible. There are many Martins in the Tulsa area but with such a common name the search is daunting. Haven't succeeded in soliciting any response from my wife's birth mother's other children, nor any of her other relatives. I suspect this is a can they don't wish to open, if they know anything, so I continue searching whatever venue is available. The city directories in Miami are no help causing me to surmize this Sam Martin wasn't in town very long - perhaps in the military or connected in some fashion to the merchant marine. Have sent messages to owners of some family trees with my inquiry - with negative results.
Again, thanks for your support.
