Hi Frank,
Thanks for replying.
I know they moved from South Carolina between 1850 and 1856. They were living in Edgefield District, South Carolina in 1850 along with two sons of Nancy's marriage to James M Norris...William Norris, born about 1838 and Nathan Norris, born about 1839.Henry Rucker was 25 in 1850 and Nancy was 34. They also had Franklin Rucker, 4, Chaney B, 3, Georgianna, 1.
In 1860 they are in the Fayetteville and McQueen Township of Lafayette County, Florida with B Franklin, 14, Chaney B, 12, Georgianna, 10, Margaret, 8 (all born in SC) and Emma, 4, born in Florida.
I am still looking for them in 1870 and for their graves. I don't know if they moved back to South Carolina, stayed in Florida or moved elsewhere.I am still trying to find the two Norris sons in 1860,
I believe Lafayette County is close to Madison County. I don't know where the Fayetteville and McQueen township was but I would like to know. There was some Whittles (Elisha, etc) that lived in Madison County and then in Alabama.I don't know if Henry and Nancy had relatives in Florida or why they moved.
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Brenda
