Jill, I replied to your post but I don't think it went through. I don't know if it's the same Jackson Magness. He is the son of George and Sarah Sharpton Magness.Check the 1860 census, Georgia Lumpkin Co., Dahlonega Dist.

Jackson was born abt. 1856. Does this date fit the date of your Jackson. There's also a Jack Meigness listed on 1880 census Georgia, Lumpkin Co., Nimblewill Dist.
178-179 Jack Meigness M 23 Ga.Ga.SC. Works at sawmill

This Jacks age fits the Jackson that was born abt. 1856. He does not show up on any other Georgia Census. We think that he left for Florida after 1880. I checked some of Florida Census but gave up. There are alot of counties. If I knew the county, it would be easier. The Crisson name shows up on Lumpkin Co., Ga. census. I don't know if any of this information will help. Let me know what you think. You can contact me at my e-mail address. Take care.
