I am familiar with who Elder E. J. Devane is. He was a very active minister in the Mount Enon Association of Primitive Baptists in central Florida. I did not know him personally because he had passed away before I was associated with the PB church.
His name is sprinkled all through the older minutes of the Mount Enon Church along I-4 in Hillsborough County.
When I was in elementary school in Arcadia, I used to read the column in the Tampa Tribune by Albert Devane with so much interest. I know the library in Tampa has his articles in a binder.
I once sat in the living room of Dwight Devane in Polk City and talked about Albert and Aunt Maggie...I think that was their sister, if I recall.
